Pebble Creek Golf Club is a 27-hole, municipally owned facility known for excellent value in the small city of Becker, Minnesota. The club, located about 50 miles northwest of Minneapolis and 20 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, is home to the Championship Course, which is a draw not only for locals but also for players from all around the region, and the Local 9, which is used primarily by kids and families. Originally known as the Red/White at Pebble Creek Country Club, the 1987-vintage Championship Course is a classic, parkland-style layout. Considered the premier public course in the area, it has also appeared on Golf Advisor s list of the Top Courses in Minnesota. Pebble Creek Golf Club s Championship Course is a very playable, enjoyable layout for golfers of widely varied skill levels. With four sets of tee markers (plus a combo option), the par-72 layout can be taken on from as short as 5,152 yards and as long as 6,872 yards. Though trees line most of the fairways, the playing corridors are a mixed lot when it comes to width some are generous, others are tighter. Water comes into play on a few holes. You'll face exciting forced carries over ponds on a couple of the par 3s. The other chief defenses of this predominantly flat, very walkable golf course are bunkers and rough. Pebble Creek Golf Club s receptive, contoured greens roll quick and true. Because the slopes and undulations are modest, breaks tend to be subtle. The club s Local 9, located across the street from the Championship Course, is an easier and less varied test that maxes out at 3,300 yards. Practice facilities at Pebble Creek Golf Club include a driving range, chipping area, sand bunker, and putting green. The clubhouse features a well stocked golf shop, ample banquet facilities, and the Pebble Creek Bar & Grill which is a hangout for golfers and non-golfers alike with its indoor seating in front of a fireplace and outside seating overlooking the Championship Course.
